Tiring Sunday

Just arrived back from Tapah after visiting Jas at her NS Camp.

Our first experience of visiting her :

On entering the camp, we were greeted by some of the attendees on duties, where they helped us to carry the bags to the canteen area. Then the bags were just scan thru to make sure we did not bring any non-halal food and sharp objects. We proceeded to register counter, where some other attendees stand up and greeted us..you know like those departmental store staff standing in line when they just open in the morning and greeting you when you walk in. They will proceed to page for the intended attendee.

My daughter did not wait for them to page.

She was so happy & excited to see us that she ran and gave me a big hug.

We brought her one of her favorite food - hei koh chee cheong fun, all the way from Penang and also smuggled in some char siew/siew yoke. Ok, we were sensitive enough and did not use the canteen's utensils.

Listening her recite her daily routine, eg waking up at 5.30am, wash/iron own clothes, clean toilets etc, really sounds like an inmate's life.

On the brighter side, this is actually a good life time experience.

And when we left the canteen, those attendees on duty will stand up and say good -bye etc etc.. short of a red carpet, this is really like a VIP reception..
