Hutan Lipur Lata Kijang - Chenderiang, Perak

Today, after visiting Jas at her camp, we detoured to this waterfall site, which is located along the same road. This waterfall can be seen from North South Highway, direction North to Ipoh.

Turning left from the main road, the site is located less than 5km.

The place is easy to access as it is only a few minutes walk from the road. Steps are provided to higher level.

Parking spaces are available but can be a bit congested on weekends.

Nice place for family outings.

Only lacking basic amenities (like changing rooms/toilets).

Entrance

Shallow pool

Steps to higher ground

Afghanistan Aerial Landscape

Aerial view of mountains in Afghanistan taken from the plane.

Commercial flights are required to fly at lower altitude in this airspace.

Air routes over Afghanistan are the shortest distances between Asia and Europe.

The whitish stuff on the tip is supposedly snow!

Awesome landscapes view from the air, but definitely not a place for comfy homes.

Belum Start, Sudah Scrapped!

Hahaha..another nitwit project by our beloved government.

at least now I do not have to debate on how to register the next family car to enjoy the fuel subsidy system. Or the need to update the additional information into MYKad.

Let's hope they come up with better workable ideas next.

Just in case you have not read that the Govt had scrapped this idea QUIETLY, please read the article on :

Happy Birthday to Everyone!

Yesterday, the seventh day of the Lunar year is traditionally the birthday of all Earthly mortal beings, that you and me. It’ also the day when tossing of raw fish salad (yee sang) is a must. The tossing of colourful salad and making wishes for continued health, wealth and anything good and auspicious is the custom primarily among the overseas Chinese in SEA. (Apparently the yee sang culture was initiated by Malaysia)

To celebrate this happy occasion, my classmates had a potluck gathering at my house.

My girlfriends are all super good chef. Ok lah, except for one or two whom still have to sharpen their cleavers, choppers and wok kungfu, we had a variety of dishes.

Even Miss Wong, whom claimed she does not like to cook, brought a self home-made dish.. It was simple but delicious stewed mushrooms. (we secretly think maybe it's her hubby whom cooked it - hehehe).

The children had a good time watching movies, playing computer games, card games and rummaging thru the fridge for drinks and tidbits.

Our hubbies had a great time with their yum seng session.

Tiring day but I truly enjoyed myself and my friends company, not to mention it was so ‘yit lau’ (aka noise pollution at the top most dangerous level).

Our next sojourn is on Saturday at another LYK’s house, for more foods, yakking and jin ra mi sessions!

WooHOOO

Jas went back to NS today, after a 5-day break. We sent her to KL Sentral, where the buses will transport the trainees back to camp. She did not want to apply additional days off cos this week they will have theory and practical handling of M16 guns. This is an once in a lifetime experience and not every one will have the opportunity to handle a M16. Moreover she enjoys her days at the camp. One more month and she will complete her training.

Which also means that I can end my Sunday LD curfew in 4 weeks time..WOOOHOOO ....

Ooops - My cookies

I've used the wrong flour for my dragon cookies. Luckily I realised my mistake before I started to press those little wringglies.

Not wanting to waste the dough (it's costly and I've taken some time to really get a good mixture), I flattened them with my palm and turn them into butter cookies.

Top with some home-made chocolate fudge, add some little colours & my daughter just love them..

I am off for the Holidays

An hour more and I am off for my Chinese New Year celebrations..I hope no more mails or calls will come in during this time. Otherwise, I cannot leave the office on time.

Actually I plan to leave a bit earlier to go pasar malam to get some stuffs and also drop by the bakery supplier shop for some ingredients. Which also remind me to write down my 'to buy' list least I forget an item. Have been rather forgetful these few days, my memory is overloaded, guess the RAM is corrupted.

New Year New Burner!

Just finished cooking the acar sauce, over a brand new gas burner.

The existing unit decided to take early retirement this evening. One burner was giving out some very 'ang ang' and 'ong ong' flames. And the pot got a very black backside as a result of the burner throwing tantrum. It was also leaking gas.

Hubby had to drive out at 9 sumting in the evening to buy the new Rinnai burner, which costs RM160.00. The old unit costs us RM120.00 and it has been in service for the last 3 years. This works out to be only RM0.11/day.

Last year, our washing machine decided also to retire couple of days before CNY, and I had tons of laundry. Poor hubby had to order a new unit during the evening and had it sent over the next day. Lucky for him, otherwise he would have had a grumbling and nagging wife at his heels.

Chinese New Year

It's terrible, I do not have the Chinese New Year bugs bites yet..do not know why lah. This year my house is still as bare as a new born babe. Nolah..I did not sell off the furnitures or what..there is no new year decorations yet, you know those red stuffs & ding-dongs we hang on every nooks and corners of the house we can to make the home feel more chinesey and to get the 'ang ang & ong ong' feel.

Ahh..never mind, I still have 3 more days to try to catch the bugs...

Wishing all GONG XI FATT CAI and happy holidays!
