TNB Boleh

I am impressed..really impressed by TNB..

Yesterday was a very peaceful and uneventful day until in the evening when

the utility pole decided to spit fire works to lighten up the night  !  at 8.pm

Sample
Luckily we had good responsible guards, whom help us to remove our cars from being electrocuted and set on fire.

The guard also extinguished the fire still burning on the cables before the Fire Brigade arrived.
One of the cable came crashing down !

Half the neighbor hood was in total darkness.  It was hot, humid and unbearable ! Imagine those living without electricity.

The TNB team came and promised that repair work would be carried out and electricity would be connected soon.  Later they left and I saw no back-up team.. Mentally I assumed that TNB would only come back when there is daylight..so looks like we had free sauna for the night..

We shared a small fan in the room and try our best to stay cool and not attract the mozzies..

Then, surprisingly three TNB teams came before 11 pm..and electricity was resumed less than 2 hours later..

I am so impressed by their quick response which all of us appreciated very much to make the night more comfortable.

Totally impressed ...really !

Good Job TNB Boleh !!!

Chinese Rice

This morning the India office lady suddenly asked me how 'old' I am..

Frankly I do not believe in hiding my age ,,,what do you have to gain?

Told her that I am already approaching 50 (born 1965)...

She stared at me in disbelief ,...not sure if it was disgustingly that I look old or
admiringly that my appearance belies my age (cough cough cough)..

I do strongly strongly believed she was admiring my youthfulness (yada yada self praise no praise)..

and she asked me what food do I take

told her  CHINESE RICE ...and that made her cracked up

MichelAngelo Bag

I told myself  'no more new bags'.. I have enough to last me for years..
Bags which I bought during my Bandung trip 2011 are still in their dust bags.
Read more at it here.

But when the eyes meet the colours, designs, shapes and bling bling..the heart and the brain are at battle, to outwit and outsmart each so that the pityful me become a victim of their war!

jasjoy

What the heart wants is not what the brain logically think is a necessity...thus making a not-so-thrifty choice.

MicelAngelo bag....nice, so sasssssyyy and just love the feel of it...
Well, maybe I do need another bag, I am sure I would find an occassion to use it !!

High Tea at 823m

Penang Hill is about 823 meters (2750 feet) above sea level.
This oldest hill resort and the first in Malaysia with cool, unpolluted air and historical feature. It's original name was Flagstaff Hill, where a flag fluttering from a flagpole at Bel Retiro, the home of the Governor of Penang at that time, was used as a signal transmitter.

It is also called  Penang Hill or Bukit Bendera, "Seng Kee Sua" in Hokkien
Francis Light plotted Penang Hill during his horse track way back in 1788.

Its average temperature is between 20-27 degree celcius.

George Town Festival 2012 Murals

Was given the mission by my daughter to locate some of the murals/painting done by this Lithunian artist for Penang 2012 festival

QUOTE
Mirrors George Town is a street art project created by international artist Ernest Zacharevic for George Town Festival 2012. The project consists of 6 to 12 large-scale wall paintings strategically placed within the core heritage zone of George Town. The painted figure drawings and portraits celebrate the multiculturalism and diversity of local inhabitants.

Currently paintings have been completed on Armenian Street, Muntri Street, and Chew Jetty.
UNQUOTE

Walking around Armenian Street and Muntri Street in the late evening, I managed to find 3 of his drawings..

The Old man, whom was his neighbour
(the painting is already fading due to the harsh Malaysian weather)

Kid reaching for teddy bear

Tired feet, tumpang duduk ya !

Kids on Bicyle

Aunty also want to tumpang

My next mission to Penang would be to locate these (photos taken from apple4today)

He is still painting around the town, which is a wonderful contribution...
and make it more a reason to go Penang again..

tAT'S y WE R mOM

Sometimes, or most of the time, we, parents, spoilt our kids rotten. We seem to pamper to their every (or almost) demands. A smile of gratitude from them or a compliment will blow us, faster than a typhoon, over the rainbow.

Although I do not REALLY REALLY advocate such behaviour, I must plead guilty of spoiling them.

Most of the time, I will try to cook or bake the stuffs my kids (more like teenage girls) fancy. Talk about challenging myself. No wonder sometimes we are called WONDER MOM ! We wonder where we get the energy to do all these stuff, we wonder how we could have done it and keep wondering endlessly..

My dear cousin Jes is busy and lost in her MUSHY MUSHY world, Jr Doter has always miss her fruit tarts. My cousin Jes bakes lovely tarts and she is a good cook too, but unfortunately now she is so tied up day and nite.

I decided to try my hand instead on this new venture.

Baked some tarts shells. The shells turned out a bit too hard for my liking. Spooned in some chocolate fudge (left over from the moist cake) and my doter 'kau tim' 10pcs in 10minutes. I intend to improve on the recipe..
