Weekend is here
I am so glad today is already Friday…it has been a long tiring week for me. Have been driving to downtown and around for the last couple of days. The traffic in town in the evening is really torturing and killing and drive one’s mentally insane. And when it rains, the situation is horrendous. My feet is aching from being too long on the paddle while on the road.
I really really need a good rest to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul.
And thanks to our Hindus friends, this is going to be a long weekend with Deepavali on Monday..

Charn Kee Tasty Corner - Lam Mee
I have not been to Jalan Alor/Tengkat Tong Shin for some years now. When I was working in KL, every morning I will have my breakfast in one of those stalls before taking a leisure morning walk to the office.
This morning, pestered hubby to go down town..just to have breakfast and for some old time sake.
This place has changed a lot ever since ...many of the old shop houses have been renovated and converted to restaurants and drinking holes. Well, more pictures of these later.
My main purpose was to have breakfast...and breakfast I had ...LAM MEE with fish paste (yee wat)...the gravy is not too starchy and the noodles is just nice .. not too soggy..and the price ?? RM4.50/bowl.....i would said it's reasonably priced.

Petronas Twin Towers - Malaysia
I had to be a temporary tour guide for my overseas colleagues. They have a 5 hour transit and wanted to see our much acclaimed Petronas Twin Towers..
As my colleagues were buzy taking many photos of the Twin Towers, I thought to myself..what is so attractive about these towers.. Do they (the towers) look extra special through the lense? Since I have my Canon with me, I also followed lah and took some photos..
Twin Towers through the camera lense is definitely some new experience for me too..

Ah Go Go Restaurant
Today, MIL has her ‘no cooking day’..and as it was raining, decided to have some spicy food to rise the body temperature a bit..
Went to Ah Go Go Restaurant Jalan Kepong for the Fish Head Curry.. We discovered this place by chance some months ago.
Beside fish head curry, this stall also has 'tai chow' / noodles and dishes..
And yes, the name of the Restaurant sound more like a 60's dancing club - Ah Go Go style..

The curry is steaming hot but not too spicy on the palate. If you prefer extra spicy version , just add 'complimentary' sambal belacan or chili padi.
Curry is serve with either rice or noodles (beehoon with taugeh)..

CHOW TAU FOO (Fermented Bean Curd)
My eldest daughter has been craving for ‘chow tau foo’ ever since she first tasted it in Hongkong last year. I like the fermented bean curd too, although it was also my first time trying it in HK...so I guess it the case of ‘love at first bite' for us! (My girlfriend practically freaked out and was spitting out the bean curd on the first try)
We heard that the pasar malam at Cheras’sTaman Muda has a stall selling this smelly stuff, but since Cheras is a bit too far, we never had the chance to eat this stuff in KL
And then we heard that the same stall is also at the Kepong Baru’s pasar malam on Sundays..
Yesterday, we made a trip to this pasar malam and managed to find the stall (which is a van), located next to the bus-stop. The stall is simply name : CHEW CHEW CHOW TAU FOO..

First attempt,,only bought 4 pieces, in case the taste is different
Well,,it’s definitely is tasty & delicious but not as original as the Hongkong's version…
Price per piece : RM0.60/pc…min 4 pieces..and it’s inclusive of some pickled vege ..

One Night In Bangkok
I am leaving tomorrow for 'One Night In Bangkok' (remember this song by Murray Head).
Luckily it's only one night or otherwise I will be spending more (on shopping loh). I was not really looking forward to this trip because it's a business trip with the boss ...blahh..
Hopefully the current unrest situation in Bangkok, which is only restricted to the Parliment ground, will NOT explode into more violent & ugly situation.
If you ladies (and guys) do not see me this weekend ..I may still be stuck in Bangkok on an extended holidays and on look out for some line dancing kawans there..
PS : will see if I can get some 'first hand' photos at Bangkok..

Malaysia
This is going to be a long working week, as compared to the former, where we had 2 days public holidays for the Hari Raya. It’s good to live in a multi ethnic & culture country…besides getting to eat and enjoy the various yummy yummy food…we also enjoy the holidays from the different multi celebrations….
Do those ex-Malaysians, whom have migrated or are oversease due to work, study, marriage and wat ever reasons…do they miss Malaysia?? In foreign countries, I doubt there is any 24/7 mamak stalls that serve steaming teh tarik , roti canai or even maggi mee (dry or wet – soup lah). Also the nice steaming bak kut teh meal,, especially on a grey rainy evenings, and this month is the 9 Emperor Gods celebrations, more excuses for bak kut teh or steamboat meals..
At the AhPek's coffeeshope, I love my steaming cup of Kopi O kau kau with nice butter/kaya toast..sometimes with the plain yau char quai, soaking and dripping with the coffee..
Or plain nasi lemak with a teh o ais limau at the warung
not forgetting a bowl of rojak and cendol by the roadside vendor
Life is great in Malaysia....
